Alstom EU Delegation is seeking a stagiaire for a six-months period, to start in January 2012.
The internship tasks will include:
- Daily press monitoring and research on Alstom’s issues (Energy, Transport, Environment, Innovation, Trade policies etc.);
- Undertake research, monitor relevant websites and collect background documents;
- Follow up EU institutions’ activities: work of the European Parliament’s committees, plenary, Council’s meetings, documents/proposals adopted by the European Commission;
- Assist in participating and reporting on conferences, events etc. organised by the EU institutions, think tanks;
- Support Alstom’s interaction with the Commission, European Parliament and Council, as appropriate;
- Assist Brussels’s team in participating to working groups and committees organised by Alstom’s associations or federations;
- Provide logistical support for meetings, briefings and presentations;
- Assist with the organisation of events.
- A university degree with relevant knowledge in European affairs, Political Science, Economics, Law;
- A solid understanding of EU institutions and procedures;
- A strong interest and/or previous experience within the field of EU Energy, Transport or Environmental Policies;
- Excellent writing and speaking skills in English, and ideally working knowledge of another European language;
- Proficient knowledge of Ms Office package;
- An organised working style with an ability to meet deadlines, with a pro-active attitude and willingness to learn about our sectors;
- Ability to work in a team, as well as autonomously.
